Command history now defaults to NMSh Native rather than silently preferring installed Atuin. An explicit persisted Atuin choice uses the shared provider gallery for detection and displays the active source/fallback in Status. This default/config change was approved.
Atuin is queried read-only at startup/provider change with public time/cwd/exit/duration/session/UUID fields, NUL-separated records, bounded output/timeout and cancellation. Results are cached in the same command-history index; missing/failing tools fall back to Native. No Atuin recording, deletion or sync command is invoked, and zsh hooks are preserved. Imported duration is approximate because the CLI formats its largest unit.
Depends on #235. Validation: build/typecheck/diff check; focused provider/config/metadata/fallback and settings regressions; full suite with inherited NO_COLOR removed. Physical QA pending: Native default, explicit Atuin selection/status, rich filters where imported metadata exists, missing-tool fallback and keyboard-only provider choice.
Research findings are on #144. No real private database latency was measured.
