…tions canonical identities CuteDslFusedMoE served NVFP4 and unquantized BF16 from one class that branched on has_nvfp4 / has_any_quant, carried an FP8 block-scale path no layer could reach, and owned no MoEImplId, so a CuteDSL grouped GEMM could not be pinned and resolution reports could only name the class. Split it into an abstract, unregistered CuteDslFusedMoEBase and one registered leaf per format: TrtllmCutedslGroupedGemmNvfp4Impl (trtllm.cutedsl.grouped_gemm.nvfp4) and TrtllmCutedslGroupedGemmBf16Impl (trtllm.cutedsl.grouped_gemm.none). The root keeps construction, the output-memset overlap stream, the locality-domain plan and the weight lifecycle; each leaf owns its descriptor, can_implement, _get_quant_method, quantize_input and run_moe. What only NVFP4 needs reaches the root through _init_format_state, _locality_domain_scale_shard and _locality_domain_full_scale_params, so no format flag is left in the root. Both leaves compose can_implement through check_grouped_gemm_leaf: identity, SM (SmSupport), dtype (BF16_ONLY), the shared gates, then the leaf's own. CuteDslFusedMoE stays as an alias of the root, so imports and the issubclass gate in create_moe keep meaning "any grouped-GEMM leaf"; cutedsl_grouped_gemm_leaf / find_cutedsl_grouped_gemm_leaf map a format to its leaf. IMPL_PRIORITY and BACKEND_FAMILY[CUTEDSL] list the two leaves in the slot the class held, so AUTO and the CUTEDSL literal select what they did before. Lay the CuteDSL implementations out as a package shaped like their ids, fused_moe/cutedsl/: grouped_gemm/ (base, eligibility, nvfp4, bf16), plus fused_fc12.py and dense_gemm.py, with identity.py, kernel_inputs.py (NvFp4WeightView, quantize_input_nvfp4, finalize_routing_scales) and runners.py shared at the package level. quantize_input_nvfp4 replaces the three NVFP4 leaves' quantize_input copies, including their NVFP4_AWQ pre-quant scale. fused_moe_cute_dsl.py, fused_moe_cute_dsl_fc12.py and fused_moe_densegemm.py now only define the CuteDslFusedMoE, CuteDslFc12FusedMoE and DenseGEMMFusedMoE names; fused_moe_cute_dsl.py leaves the legacy lint list. The kernel-launching methods, the runners and the tuner cache keys move unchanged, as does the prefill token cap on asynchronous input quantization. Shared MoE plumbing: - MoEImplBase derives scheduler_kind, capabilities and input_requirement from a class's own descriptor and owns _check_quant_config_is_my_format; the CUTLASS and CuteDSL roots and the fused-FC12 and dense-GEMM leaves no longer restate them. Every class that publishes a descriptor already carried the same values. - impl_contract gains activation_rejection_detail and check_activation_support, shared by resolution, the BF16 CuteDSL leaf and the SM120 Triton leaf. Behavior changes: - create_weights refuses a layer whose final quant_config no longer matches the leaf it was resolved for, as the CUTLASS and TRTLLM-Gen leaves do. - The unreachable FP8 block-scale path is deleted. - With apply_router_weight_on_input and no DeepEP / NCCL-EP communicator, the CuteDSL leaves hand the finalize unit scales instead of failing on None. - The BF16 leaf declares no activation constant: its FC1 op fuses a plain SwiGLU and ignored act_clamp, so a clamped BF16 SwiGLU layer now leaves the CUTEDSL literal for the CUTLASS unquantized leaf and a pin on trtllm.cutedsl.grouped_gemm.none fails instead of running unclamped. - The dense-GEMM leaf returns an empty output for an empty micro-batch instead of failing in the scale-factor reshape and swizzle. - A partial impl_id such as grouped_gemm.nvfp4 now names both the CUTLASS and the CuteDSL grouped GEMM and resolves to the CuteDSL leaf by IMPL_PRIORITY. Tests: test_moe_impl.py gains a CuteDSL grouped-GEMM section (a declarations table checked against the registry, literal and pin resolution, the BF16 activation and clamp refusals, the partial pin); test_moe_backend.py checks on the CPU stage the empty-batch scale width, the empty dense-GEMM batch and the finalize unit scales, and on Blackwell that the grouped-GEMM leaf matches CUTLASS on an NVFP4_AWQ layer (listed in l0_b200). Existing CuteDSL tests construct the leaf they exercise, and the count-native tile-plan tests, which only exercised a test-local helper, are dropped. MOE_DEVELOPER_GUIDE.md and the trtllm-moe-develop skill describe the cutedsl package and its leaves. Signed-off-by: xxi <xxi@nvidia.com>
… default The dense-GEMM leaf enables the fused FC2 alpha only when the variable is "1"; the default is disabled, and the fused path has a known accuracy issue under TP. Signed-off-by: xxi <xxi@nvidia.com>
… keep the NVFP4 activation-admission tests - test_scheduler_quantizes_input_async_only_under_multi_stream (NVIDIA#20808) built the abstract CuteDslFusedMoE root, which has no quantize_input_async; it now builds TrtllmCutedslGroupedGemmNvfp4Impl. Its sibling built the abstract CutlassFusedMoE root and now builds TrtllmCutlassNvfp4Impl. - Keep the checks that the NVFP4 grouped-GEMM leaf's can_implement admits SiTU on SM100/SM103/SM107 and Relu2 on SM107, retargeted to the leaf, so a reintroduced activation or SM gate fails pre-merge. Dev Engineer Review
CuteDSL grouped-GEMM now uses a shared
CuteDslFusedMoEBaseand separately registered NVFP4 and BF16 leaves with canonical identities. The implementations moved intocutedsl/; legacy module names remain as compatibility aliases.CUTEDSLresolution uses quantization-specific leaves. Partial identities can match across techniques and resolve by priority; full identities pin a specific implementation. The refactor centralizes quantization-format validation and activation checks. It also changes routing-scale finalization, BF16 activation eligibility, empty micro-batch handling, and weight-creation validation. The NVFP4 async-quantization token cap and NVFP4_AWQ pre-quant scaling are reported as unchanged. The fused FC2 alpha path is enabled only when
TRTLLM_MOE_FUSED_FC2_ALPHAis"1".Verify format rejection, identity resolution, activation fallback, compatibility imports, async-quantization synchronization, locality-domain execution, and the fused FC2 alpha path. No current review findings were supplied, so review severity counts are unavailable. Reported CPU validation includes 294 passing
test_moe_impl.pytests, 89 passing CPU-onlytest_moe_backend.pytests, and 8 passing CuteDSL async-quantization tests. Onetest_moe_impl.pyfailure was attributed to the local FlashInfer environment missingSSDCombined. GPU tests were not run locally.QA Engineer Review
Modified tests cover implementation identities and resolution, activation rejection, backend selection, NVFP4 pre-quant scales, routing weights, empty micro-batches, async quantization, and DeepEP metadata. The CuteDSL kernel test removes count-native tile-plan boundary and clamping tests. The new
test_cutedsl_nvfp4_pre_quant_scale_matches_cutlasstest is listed intests/integration/test_lists/test-db/l0_b200.yml. No manual-QA list change was reported. Coverage verdict: needs follow-up, because GPU tests were not run locally and the removed test cases may need coverage elsewhere.Per-File QA Perspective

Problem.
CuteDslFusedMoEserved two formats — NVFP4 and unquantized BF16 — from one class that branched onhas_nvfp4/has_any_quantin construction,_get_quant_method,quantize_input,run_moeand the locality-domain weight split, and it carried an FP8 block-scale path no layer could reach. It owned noMoEImplId, so a CuteDSL grouped GEMM could not be pinned, and resolution reports could only name the class. This is the CuteDSL counterpart of #20741 (TRTLLM-14960), which did the same for the CUTLASS family.Change. One abstract root and one registered leaf per format:
CuteDslFusedMoEBase(abstract, unregistered;CuteDslFusedMoEstays as its alias)TrtllmCutedslGroupedGemmNvfp4Impltrtllm.cutedsl.grouped_gemm.nvfp4can_implement, quant method,quantize_input(_async),run_moeTrtllmCutedslGroupedGemmBf16Impltrtllm.cutedsl.grouped_gemm.noneIMPL_PRIORITYandBACKEND_FAMILY["CUTEDSL"]list the two leaves in the slot the class held, so AUTO and theCUTEDSLliteral select what they did before.cutedsl_grouped_gemm_leaf/find_cutedsl_grouped_gemm_leafmap a format to its leaf.can_implementthroughcheck_grouped_gemm_leaf: identity → SM (SmSupport) → dtype (BF16_ONLY) → shared gates → the leaf's own.fused_moe/cutedsl/:grouped_gemm/(base, eligibility, nvfp4, bf16),fused_fc12.py,dense_gemm.py, plus sharedidentity.py,kernel_inputs.py(NvFp4WeightView,quantize_input_nvfp4,finalize_routing_scales) andrunners.py.fused_moe_cute_dsl.py,fused_moe_cute_dsl_fc12.pyandfused_moe_densegemm.pynow only define the old names, so existing imports keep working. Kernel-launch methods, runners and autotuner cache keys move unchanged.MoEImplBase.__init_subclass__derivesscheduler_kind/capabilities/input_requirementfrom a class's own descriptor (every class that publishes one already carried the same values),MoEImplBase._check_quant_config_is_my_formatreplaces three copies, andimpl_contract.check_activation_supportreplaces the activation check that the BF16 leaf, the SM120 Triton leaf and resolution each spelled out.Behavior changes reviewers should check:
create_weightsrefuses a layer whose finalquant_configno longer matches the leaf it was resolved for, as the CUTLASS and TRTLLM-Gen leaves already do.run_moe_fp8_block_scales, the fp32 einsum reference GEMM) is deleted;can_implementalready declined that format.act_clamp, so a clamped BF16 SwiGLU layer used to resolve to it and run unclamped. It now leaves theCUTEDSLliteral forTrtllmCutlassUnquantizedImpl(whose epilogue applies the clamp), and a pin ontrtllm.cutedsl.grouped_gemm.nonefails instead of running.apply_router_weight_on_inputand no DeepEP / NCCL-EP communicator the scheduler passestoken_final_scales=None; the grouped-GEMM leaves used to fail on it. They now hand the finalize unit scales (finalize_routing_scales, which the fused-FC12 leaf already did inline).impl_idsuch asgrouped_gemm.nvfp4now names both the CUTLASS and the CuteDSL grouped GEMM and resolves to the CuteDSL leaf byIMPL_PRIORITY(documented in the guide, pinned by a test). Pin the full id (trtllm.cutlass.grouped_gemm.nvfp4) to get CUTLASS.The NVFP4_AWQ pre-quant scale (#20823) and the prefill token cap on async input quantization (#20779) are carried over unchanged into the new modules.
