Summary

Adds persistent ragged verification layouts and exact-shape CUDA-graph support for DSpark confidence scheduling. DecoderRunner owns preparation and metadata; the model-engine facade delegates the required state and operations.

Confidence-specific graph shape, agreement and low/high padding policy is isolated in DSparkCUDAGraphRunner, selected only for confidence-enabled execution. The native runner retains shared capture/replay and resource ownership. The rebase onto main at deebe2be3d37475a3e84cf24c5be39bfd43a7343 preserves main's warmup/capture timeout split and eager bypasses; ragged opt-in is forwarded through the existing metadata builder at construction, before persistent storage allocation, only for a compatible DSA-derived target backend.

Decode verification can use fewer proposal rows while keeping request, KV and per-token sampling ownership aligned. Graph capture reserves separate padding-request identities, and replay refreshes persistent metadata without replacing its storage. Both DSpark padding families use the worker's dedicated scratch row, never live request slots. Generic Eagle/MTP tree padding retains its existing allocated-token capacity; DSpark keeps its physical-draft bound. Confidence-disabled execution keeps the native path.

This is the fifth confidence-head change. PR4 #20071 is merged, and this PR is rebased onto main without carrying that merged implementation in its diff. It adds graph/runtime plumbing and a tensor selector; distributed policy activation and the optional fused selector follow in PR6 #20078.

The changes span graph, decoder preparation and sampling metadata because these structures must share the same request-row ownership. They implement one runtime contract, not a new attention backend.

Validation

  • Focused selected-source CPU checks: 76 cases passed using real CPU PyTorch, exact selected runner/facade/worker/metadata methods, complete tensor-selector modules and full graph-policy classes. They cover graph geometry and agreements, dummy identities, request/KV ordering, persistent metadata, feature-off delegation, constructor-time ragged opt-in and per-token sampling ownership. The packed-prefix fixture follows main's removal of PreparedInputs.gather_ids and checks the actual persistent gather-ID buffer instead.
  • Finite runtime-owner controls: 15 passed. Allocation/rollback controls: 11 passed, including a bad/fixed/restored-bad discriminator for duplicate cleanup. Constructor/factory controls: 7 passed with current Mapping() construction. These exercise selected actual source with finite dependency-boundary probes, not native resource allocation or full TRT-LLM imports.
  • Graph-policy parity: 256 lookup + 96 padding cases passed against the pre-review published head 951a5a263ab503e412914763d99523074e2caf0e; native confidence-OFF parity adds 128 lookup + 16 padding cases against the rebased main snapshot deebe2be3d37475a3e84cf24c5be39bfd43a7343. These are CPU policy controls, not GPU capture/replay qualification.
  • Logits-ownership controls: 7 cases passed and all 3 injected regressions were detected using actual selected methods and real CPU tensors.
  • All applicable changed-file pre-commit hooks passed, including formatting/lint, YAML, test-list AST selection and pinned-memory policy. Changed Python files parse, the diff passes git diff --check, and the three commits retain DCO sign-offs. An all-files run was not performed in the sparse Windows checkout; exact-head repository CI remains separate.
  • The secondary-padding regression covers actual worker initialization and metadata preparation at physical K1/K3/K8. Source review checks current-runner call order, generic tree-speculation compatibility, DSpark capacity guards and PR5 import independence from PR6's fused APIs.
  • The sampling-ownership CPU test is explicitly selected by l0_cpu.yml; the other hardware-agnostic modules, including the slot regression, are covered by its existing CPU test subtree.
  • Native CUDA-graph replay, TP/DP collectives, full-model integration and exact-head repository CI remain unqualified by these checks. These selected-source Windows CPU checks do not establish native imports or replace GPU/integration validation.

The pull request adds DSpark confidence-scheduled ragged verification. It selects per-request verification windows and integrates ragged layouts with CUDA graph capture, decoder input preparation, and attention metadata.

Changes

DSpark Ragged Verification

Layer / File(s) Summary
Ragged graph keys and padding
tensorrt_llm/_torch/pyexecutor/cuda_graph_runner.py, tensorrt_llm/_torch/speculative/dspark.py, tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_cuda_graph_dummy_identity.py, tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_cuda_graph_runtime.py
Graph keys can include a ragged verification bucket. Attention-DP shape agreement and variant-aware dummy allocation support ragged graph padding. Dummy resources are rolled back on allocation failure and released across variants.
Device window selection and sampling layout
tensorrt_llm/_torch/speculative/dspark_select.py, tensorrt_llm/_torch/speculative/interface.py, tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_select.py, tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/test_device_window_sampling_layout.py, tests/integration/test_lists/test-db/l0_cpu.yml
Device helpers rank real requests under a token budget, produce ragged row mappings, and gather packed draft tokens. SpecMetadata remaps expanded sampling parameters for selected rows. Tests cover selection, gathering, and sampling-buffer remapping.
Decoder graph setup and model-engine access
tensorrt_llm/_torch/pyexecutor/engine/metadata.py, tensorrt_llm/_torch/pyexecutor/engine/runners/decoder/runner.py, tensorrt_llm/_torch/pyexecutor/model_engine.py, tests/unittest/_torch/executor/test_pytorch_model_engine.py, tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_model_engine_runtime.py, tests/unittest/_torch/compilation/test_phase_selective_forward.py, tests/unittest/_torch/executor/test_moe_comm_timeout_warmup.py
Decoder setup loads confidence scheduling data, selects the DSpark graph runner, prepares capture variants, and warms compressor metadata. Attention metadata receives the ragged-verification option. PyTorchModelEngine forwards decoder-runner state and helpers.
Decoder ragged runtime
tensorrt_llm/_torch/pyexecutor/engine/runners/decoder/runner.py, tests/unittest/_torch/speculative/hw_agnostic/test_dspark_model_engine_runtime.py
DecoderRunner fits verification windows against graph and table constraints, optionally reranks them on device, and publishes ragged layouts. Trimmed input gathering, token accounting, and KV offsets use per-request widths.

Full details: Title check

Explanation

The title follows the required template: it has a JIRA ticket ([TRTLLM-14620]), a type ([feat]), and a short summary. It names the main change, which is adding DSpark ragged graph and runtime integration. The raw summary confirms the main change is DSpark ragged verification with CUDA-graph support and runtime plumbing. The title is concise and specific, so a teammate scanning history can identify the primary change.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description covers the required template elements. It has a summary of the change and the runtime contract, a validation section that lists test coverage with Linux test commands, and a PR checklist. The template's Description and Test Coverage headings are mostly filled in under different names (Summary and Validation). The description states the dependency on PR4 and the follow-up PR6. The PR title ticket is not restated in the body, and the template's '@coderabbitai summary' line is absent. These are minor gaps. The description clearly explains what changed and why, so the check passes.

From 3.20.4 until 4.2.1, ReadWriteLock let SQLite reopen the database and side files by name; on POSIX systems an attacker with rename access in a non-sticky parent can swap those names to cause overwrite or unlink operations, while a writable adjacent hot journal is additionally required for attacker-chosen content overwrites. This issue is fixed in version 4.2.1. HIGH

Add exact-shape verification graph/runtime integration, isolate confidence graph policy, and preserve constructor-time ragged metadata opt-in.

Keep input-preparer ownership in the native and encoder-decoder graph factories, and retain optional-config fixture construction without changing configured confidence behavior. Add focused factory and constructor regression coverage.
