Setup Instructions

This Laravel application includes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server for enhanced AI assistance. Follow these steps to get started:

Prerequisites

  • Docker and Docker Compose
  • Node.js and npm
  • Claude Desktop with MCP support

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:

    git clone <repository-url>
    cd laravel-mcp
  2. Install dependencies:

    docker run --rm \
        -u "$(id -u):$(id -g)" \
        -v "$(pwd):/var/www/html" \
        -w /var/www/html \
        laravelsail/php84-composer:latest \
        composer install --ignore-platform-reqs
    npm install
  3. Set up environment:

    cp .env.example .env
    php artisan key:generate
  4. Start Laravel Sail (Docker):

    ./vendor/bin/sail up -d
  5. Run database migrations:

    ./vendor/bin/sail artisan migrate
  6. Build frontend assets:

    ./vendor/bin/sail npm run build
    # or for development
    ./vendor/bin/sail npm run dev

MCP Server Integration

To integrate this Laravel application's MCP server with Claude Desktop, run:

claude mcp add my-server -- php artisan mcp:start my-app-server

This will enable Claude to interact with your Laravel application through the MCP protocol, providing enhanced assistance with database queries, documentation searches, and more.

Accessing the Application

  • Web Application: http://localhost
  • MCP Server: Automatically configured when using the Claude integration command above

Additional Commands

  • List all feedback in database:
    ./vendor/bin/sail artisan app:list-feedback
