Description

eve dev and eve build could mutate the same compiler, host, Nitro, workflow, and output paths. A production build or authored file deletion could therefore invalidate the live Rolldown graph, replace dev-only workflow handlers, or leave partial output behind.

This change gives every production build an invocation-owned workspace under .eve/builds, atomically publishes only completed output under a short crash-recoverable lock, and leaves the last successful output untouched on failure. Dev host entrypoints remain at stable .eve/host paths, generated files are atomically replaced, and Rolldown no longer directly watches authored or eve-generated sources coordinated by the authored-source watcher.

The runtime snapshot pruner now compares canonical filesystem paths so /var and /private/var aliases cannot cause it to delete the active snapshot.

How did you test your changes?

Real notes app validation with two concurrent production builds, continuous health polling, tool deletion/rename, and an intentionally failing build that preserved the prior output

The real dev smoke launches the packaged eve dev CLI, starts eve build, deletes a tool during the build, and polls health throughout the overlap. The pruning smoke deletes the obsolete startup snapshot, verifies stable Nitro input hashes and import edges, completes a streamed turn before any structural reload, then verifies the reload remains healthy.
