502 Bad Gateway errors when using API

I'm having the exact problem described in this issue: #8 I'm making a new issue since the previous one was closed months ago, but several people have chimed in again there within the past couple weeks with no response.

We experience 502 Errors for about 80% of the time when calling google sheets via the API.
