- Download or clone the repository
- Open
bit-tron-character.htmlin your web browser - Allow audio permissions if prompted
Visit the live demo at: GitHub Pages
- Click anywhere on Bit to get a random Yes/No response
- Watch Bit transform from blue polyhedron to yellow (YES) or red (NO)
- Listen to the authentic TRON movie sounds
- Neutral State: Blue floating polyhedron with gentle rotation
- YES Response: Transforms to yellow octahedron with upward motion
- NO Response: Changes to red spiky stellated icosahedron
| Action | Result |
|---|---|
| Click Bit | Random Yes/No response |
| Click "Ask Question (Yes)" | Forces YES response |
| Click "Ask Question (No)" | Forces NO response |
| Click "Excite Bit!" | Rapid-fire responses (like the movie!) |
| Key | Action |
|---|---|
| Y | YES response |
| N | NO response |
| Space | Random response |
| E | Excite Bit (rapid responses) |
- Tap Bit: Random response
- Tap Buttons: Specific responses
- Responsive Design: Adapts to screen size
- "YES!" - Positive, affirmative response
- "NO!" - Negative, denial response
- "YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!" - Rapid positive excitement
- "NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!" - Rapid negative alarm
- Shape: Complex polyhedron (dodecahedron + icosahedron compound)
- Color: Blue/cyan with gentle pulsing glow
- Animation: Floating motion with slow rotation
- Meaning: Ready to respond, listening
- Shape: Octahedron (8-sided geometric form)
- Color: Bright yellow/orange
- Animation: Upward scaling with rotation
- Sound: Rising tone "YES!"
- Duration: ~1.5 seconds
- Shape: Stellated icosahedron (spiky star form)
- Color: Bright red
- Animation: Aggressive scaling with shake
- Sound: Descending tone "NO!"
- Duration: ~1.5 seconds
- YES: Golden particles burst outward
- NO: Red particles scatter aggressively
- Visual Enhancement: Adds dynamic energy to responses
- Primary: Authentic TRON (1982) movie audio
- Fallback: Generated tones if audio files fail
- Quality: Crystal clear, professionally processed
- Background: Animated TRON-style grid
- Pulsing Effect: Grid brightness cycles automatically
- Aesthetic: Classic 1982 computer graphics style
Problem: Bit responds visually but no audio plays
Solutions:
- Check browser audio: Ensure browser audio is enabled
- User gesture: Click anywhere first (some browsers require user interaction)
- Fallback tones: If movie audio fails, synthetic tones should play
- Browser compatibility: Try Chrome/Firefox for best audio support
Problem: Animations are choppy or laggy
Solutions:
- Close other tabs: Free up browser resources
- Hardware acceleration: Enable in browser settings
- Update browser: Use latest version for best performance
- Reduce window size: Smaller viewport = better performance
Problem: Shapes don't display correctly
Solutions:
- Modern browser: Use Chrome, Firefox, or Safari (recent versions)
- CSS support: Ensure CSS3 clip-path is supported
- Graphics drivers: Update if on older hardware
- Zoom level: Reset browser zoom to 100%
Problem: Touch controls don't work properly
Solutions:
- Tap directly on Bit: Ensure you're touching the character
- Portrait mode: Try rotating device
- Full screen: Use browser full-screen mode
- Modern mobile browser: Use Chrome Mobile or Safari
- Chrome 60+ (Recommended)
- Firefox 55+
- Safari 12+
- Edge 79+
- CSS3 Transforms: For geometric animations
- CSS Clip-path: For shape definitions
- HTML5 Audio: For sound playback
- Web Audio API: For fallback sound generation
- Desktop: Smooth 60fps on modern computers
- Mobile: Good performance on mid-range devices and up
- GPU: Hardware acceleration recommended
- Use headphones/speakers: Bit's sounds are part of the experience
- Volume: Set to comfortable level for movie-quality audio
- First interaction: Click once to enable audio (browser requirement)
- Full screen: Press F11 for immersive Grid experience
- Dark room: Better appreciation of neon glow effects
- High resolution: Crisp geometric shapes on HD displays
- Vary your questions: Try different interaction methods
- Excite Bit: Use 'E' key for movie-authentic rapid responses
- Watch the particles: Notice the color-coded particle effects
- Binary Communication: Only responds with Yes/No
- Emotional Expression: Shows excitement through repetition
- Geometric Language: Shape changes convey meaning
- Loyal Companion: Always ready to respond
- 1982 Authentic: Based on original movie character
