What changed:

  • BIPOC is too far out of the European context, so more European context marginal groups are added
  • "Sometimes we feel guilty" feels a bit patronising, so change from "guilty" to "difficulties"

I like it - thanks!

I think guilty could be appropriate too, but I'm fine with difficulties as well.

Thanks, that makes sense.

  • We had some discussion about this wording, and some people felt that starting with “we feel guilty” might frame the experience a bit too strongly. We did not really come up with a perfect replacement, so I am also not sure whether it is necessary to change it.

  • Also, last year we discussed some broader points about the lab philosophy; see Notes of Lab Philosophy in the Wiki. However, we did not manage to organize a follow-up meeting to discuss them further. For example, we talked about the Ombudsperson / trusted contact, and about the lab mission: how to bring the lab together as a whole and improve collaboration. It would be great if we could also integrate what we discussed during this year’s retreat.
