TruffleChain

Because a $4,000-per-kilo fungus deserves a blockchain and you deserve to know it's not from a parking lot in Jersey

TruffleChain creates immutable provenance records for luxury fungi from soil to sommelier, integrating directly with cultivation licensing authorities across France, Italy, and Spain so every truffle carries a verified origin passport. Auction houses, importers, and Michelin-starred kitchen buyers scan a QR code and get exact forest coordinates, harvester credentials, and cold-chain custody logs in seconds. It also handles the deeply weird customs classifications that make truffle importing a nightmare — and somehow makes them not a nightmare.

Features

  • Immutable on-chain provenance passports tied to licensed harvester identities and geo-verified forest parcels
  • Cold-chain custody ledger with sub-2-minute handoff logging across 47 certified cold storage partners
  • Live integration with INAO, ICQRF, and MAPA licensing registries for real-time credential verification
  • Customs HS code disambiguation engine for Tuber melanosporum, Tuber magnatum, and nine additional regulated species — because misclassifying a white Alba costs someone their import license
  • QR-linked buyer audit trail with tamper-evident chain of custody from harvest window to delivery receipt

Supported Integrations

Salesforce Commerce Cloud, TruffleBase Registry API, FrigoTrack, INAO Open Data, ChainAudit Pro, Stripe, NeuroSync Compliance, EUCert Gateway, FungalID Labs API, ColdVault, ShipChain Logistics, Customs-IQ

Architecture

TruffleChain runs as a set of independent microservices deployed on Kubernetes — provenance ingestion, custody relay, customs resolution, and the public QR lookup service each scale and fail in isolation. The provenance ledger is backed by MongoDB because the document model maps cleanly onto the irregular shape of regional licensing data and I'm not rewriting it. Hot custody state lives in Redis, which handles the lookup volume without flinching. The blockchain anchor layer posts Merkle roots to an Ethereum-compatible chain every six hours so the provenance records are independently verifiable without needing to trust me or anyone else.
