PeatBourse

The only carbon exchange where the underlying asset is technically just very old wet mud

PeatBourse is a carbon credit origination and trading platform purpose-built for peat bog rewetting projects. It lets wetland asset managers tokenize sequestration claims, satisfy extraction offset mandates, and trade verified credits against industrial buyers in real time. Every other carbon platform pretends bogs don't exist, and that is a multi-billion dollar oversight I intend to exploit.

Features

  • Satellite moisture index ingestion for automated credit vintage validation
  • Flags drawdown events across 14 independent registry position signals before clawback triggers
  • Native Verra and Gold Standard registry sync via ClimateLedger bridge
  • Real-time bid/ask orderbook for peatland-origin credits against industrial offset buyers
  • Tokenized sequestration claims with on-chain provenance. No PDFs.

Supported Integrations

Verra Registry, Gold Standard, Planet Labs, Sentinel Hub, ClimateLedger, BogChain, Stripe Climate, Salesforce Net Zero Cloud, xpansiv CBL, RegistrySync Pro, WetlandIQ, CarbonOS

Architecture

PeatBourse runs as a set of loosely coupled microservices behind an Nginx gateway, with each domain — ingestion, validation, trading, registry sync — owning its own deployment surface. Credit validation state is persisted in MongoDB because the document model maps cleanly onto vintage metadata and I'm not going to apologize for that. The satellite ingestion pipeline is built on a custom worker queue that drains into Redis for long-term moisture index storage. The trading engine is written in Go and it is fast enough that latency has never once been a conversation.
