Constrain note length not working

Constrain note length doesnt work. whenever i try to change the default number, it resets itself upon clicking the complete button. Is there a fix to this or is this one of the features that straight up dont work on old vegas versions?

I can't reproduce this in Vegas Pro 23. Feature works as intended.
Did you try fiddling around with only milliseconds, seconds, minutes?

This could be just an older Vegas Pro related problem.

I guess if you enabled "Legato" feature in either Visual or Audio tab.
This is because "constrain note length" feature just constrain note length, not clip(track event) length, Legato may override the clip length.
Please check if your Legato setting is set to "Staccato" option, it works as your expected behavior.

This is the answer for sure. It's also pretty cool that restricting the note's length with legato set to unlimited or so keeps the effects length restricted in the clips generated with some of the audio and visual effects.

Most likely, this is what happened. I didn't even think to check for Legato.

This hasn't really been addressed as solved yet and I'd like to point out something @otomad that we overlooked a detail.

This probably had nothing to do Legato, perhaps they were talking about the value of the fixed length not being written to config when required to?
