Add two small features to the Graphing calculator. #2479

Description

Problem Statement

  1. Why don't you add a function input starting with the equation similar to $f(x)=$, $f(x, a)=$, $f(x, a, b)=$, and so on?
  2. Why don't you add a feature that adds more function inputs rather than restricting to 14 function inputs?

Evidence or User Insights

  • Item 1 of Problem Statement
    • I need to split a long equation into parts. For example, $y=\left(\sqrt{x^2+3x+5}\right)^2+3\sqrt{x^2+3x+5}+2$ can be split into:
      • $f_{\text{root}}(x)=\sqrt{x^2+3x+5}$
      • $f_{\text{quadratic}}(x)=x^2+3x+2$
      • $y=f_{\text{quadratic}}(f_{\text{root}}(x))$
    • I need to change the name of the independent variable.
  • Item 2 of Problem Statement
    • Becuase of the first item of Problem Statement, we need more function inputs to graph or define more functions.

Proposal

  • Item 1 of Problem Statement
    • The improvements helps write long functions by separating into subfunctions and entering them.
  • Item 2 of Problem Statement
    • The improvements helps add more graphs or define more functions.

Goals

As written in the Proposal section,

  • Item 1 of Problem Statement
    • This can help write long functions by separating into subfunctions and entering them.
  • Item 2 of Problem Statement
    • This can help add more graphs or define more functions.

Non-Goals

There are no Non-Goals.

Requested Assignment

I'm just suggesting this idea. I don't want to implement it.
