Adds a standalone Spanish source plugin for novels2.com (issue lnreader#120): browse the latest listing, open a novel, read its full chapter list, read chapter text, and search. - The novel page only renders the first 20 chapters in its markup. The full list is serialized in the Next.js RSC payload, so it is parsed from the raw HTML (253 chapters on the longest checked novel). - Covers the site marks as failed (`*_failed.png`) fall back to the default cover; relative cover paths are resolved against the site. - No existing multisrc generator matches the site, so this is standalone.

[Medium impact] Adds a new novel source plugin for a Spanish website. The PR appears safe to merge, with a non-blocking cover issue in EPUB export. Findings

resolveUrl prepends the site even when given an absolute cover URL. EPUB export calls resolveUrl(coverUrl, true), and toCover already returns an absolute URL. This produces a URL such as https://www.novels2.comhttps://novels2.com/obs/..., so exported books lose their covers. Return absolute URLs unchanged before joining relative paths.

Fixed in a69380a: resolveUrl now returns absolute http(s) URLs unchanged and only joins relative paths to the site, so cover URLs in EPUB export no longer get a doubled host. Verified with a reproduction before and after the change and with check:plugin.
resolveUrl prepended the site to every path, so an absolute cover URL became https://www.novels2.comhttps://novels2.com/... and exported EPUB books lost their covers. Absolute http(s) URLs are now returned as-is; relative paths are still joined to the site.
Screenshots
These come from this repo's plugin playground (
npm run dev:start), run headless. They are not from the LNReader app: the Android toolchain is not installed on the machine that made this change, so the plugin has not been tested in the app.1. Popular listing (Novels2 source, live results). Covers that show "Book cover not available" use the default cover.
2. Search for "escamas".
3. Novel detail with its full chapter list (12 chapters).
4. Longest checked novel: all 253 chapters are listed, not just the first 20.
5. Chapter text (readable Spanish).

Intent
Work on #120 and include screenshots of the working fix in the PR.
Issue 120, "[Source Request] NovelS2" (opened four years ago): the requester linked a novels2.com page and asked for the site as a source. The link they gave was a Vietnamese
/truyen/...path that no longer exists - the site has changed since - but the site itself is live today: https://www.novels2.com/ returns 200 with a real listing, and a chapter page (for example a/novel/<slug>/parte-3-capitulo-2-...URL) returns 200 with about 11.6k characters of readable Spanish text. No plugin and no generated source covers novels2.com today, so the request is still open. The site's content is Spanish.Make sure the fix's pull request shows a photo of the plugin working correctly inside the plugin playground, and run that screenshot process headless if possible.
What Changed
plugins/spanish/novels2.ts(idnovels2, sitehttps://www.novels2.com) with popular listing (/?page=N) and search (/search?keyword=...), both parsed from the same novel-card markup and using the*_failed.pngplaceholder fallback todefaultCover.parseNovelreads the title, cover, author, synopsis, genres, and status (ongoing/completed/unknown). The full chapter list is extracted from the Next.js RSC payload embedded in the novel page, since the rendered markup shows only the first 20 chapters. Chapters are sorted by their site number and carry a release time.parseChapterreturns the paragraphs inside<article>as HTML and throws if no chapter text is found. Adds the 96x96 icon atpublic/static/src/es/novels2/icon.png.Risk Assessment
✅ Low: The change adds one new standalone plugin with a 96x96 icon and no edits to shared code; I traced the chapter regex and the two-pass RSC unescape by hand and found no wrong-value path, but live selectors and the chapter URL shape (slug plus id) are unverified because I did not run the live check, and the applied two-pass decode differs from the recorded single-pass decision, which I judged more correct for the escaping the regex captures.
Testing
Ran the baseline live check, a live harness against the real site covering listing, pagination, search, novel metadata, the full ordered chapter list (including a 288-chapter novel beyond the 20 in markup), chapter text, and three adversarial RSC cases, and drove the real playground headlessly through Popular, Search, Parse Novel, and Parse Chapter with screenshots. All live scenarios passed. The resolveUrl check was run in-process and was not driven live, so it is marked untested. The adversarial cases were run through a fetch wrapper that mutates the real site response, so they are live against the real plugin code but use a transport-level fixture. Screenshots are in the evidence directory.

Cover URL fix (EPUB export)
Follow-up commit
a69380afixesresolveUrl, which prepended the site to every path. An absolute cover URL came back ashttps://www.novels2.comhttps://novels2.com/..., so exported EPUB books lost their covers.resolveUrlnow returns absolute http(s) URLs unchanged and still joins relative paths to the site. This was reported by the Greptile review bot (P2); the fix was validated again through the no-mistakes pipeline, andnpm run check:pluginpassed.
