This reduces aliasing, including moiré in fine repeating patterns, as the artwork rotates. It does not affect artwork when rotation is disabled.
Tested this with album artwork containing many fine dots, and it from what I can see it eliminated all the moiré
AFAIK this has a minimal/basically unnoticeable effect on the actual quality (mostly very fine details)
