fix(fs): prioritize mod archives over stock loose files - #352
Conversation
Retail Zero Hour installs contain loose files in Data/Scripts/ (such as SkirmishScripts.scb) which historically shadowed custom scripts inside mod archives (like Shockwave's !Shw_scripts.big). On Windows, the original Shockwave launcher bypassed this by renaming stock .scb files to .bcs. On Linux and macOS manual installs, this step was missing, causing Shockwave Skirmish AI to become completely inactive for new generals. Add ArchiveFileSystem::hasModArchiveOverride to detect when an archive file originates from a mod archive (!*.big or custom scripts), and prioritize archive lookups in FileSystem::openFile and doesFileExist over stock loose files.

- Line 430: Update getFileCount to count only archive entries that qualify as
mod entries, rather than all entries in result.dirInfo->m_files; keep
nonqualifying entries available through the ordinary archive fallback. Preserve
the intended lookup order of mod archive, loose file, then ordinary archive in
FileSystem::openFile, doesFileExist, and getFileInfo.
- Line 403: Update the archive-priority checks using m_modDir and m_modBIG to
compare normalized archive paths instead of substring matches: require m_modDir
to match as a complete directory path followed by a separator or end of path,
and require m_modBIG to match the archive path exactly. Preserve the existing
priority behavior for valid mod archives.
Review comments at @Core/GameEngine/Source/Common/System/FileSystem.cpp:

lookup flow containing `instance -= archiveCount`; use a separate adjusted index
for backend lookup so the negative-cache write records the original index.
Ensure a later existence check for an existing archive entry is not incorrectly
rejected by the cache.

…ipts chunk Custom maps created in standard WorldBuilder only define retail factions and lack mod-added skirmish generals (e.g. Armor, Salvage, and Special Weapons in Shockwave). When SkirmishScripts.scb is loaded, ParsePlayersDataChunk read sideDict from the ScriptsPlayers chunk but discarded it. Consequently: - Mod factions were missing from m_skirmishSides - ParseTeamsDataChunk skipped registering mod teams - prepareForMP_or_Skirmish pruned mod scripts - Player::initFromDict fell back to forceHuman, leaving AI idle Now SidesList::addSkirmishSide registers missing sides from sideDict, allowing custom and ranked maps to dynamically support mod generals. Also expands m_skirmishSides capacity to MAX_SKIRMISH_SIDES (64) to prevent overflow when maps define neutral/civilian players alongside large mod rosters. Fixes #335

addSkirmishSideadds sides with no build list and no script list at import time. Scripts attach later by name match againststatic_readPlayerNames[i]. For an indexi >= MAX_SKIRMISH_SIDES, no name is stored, but a side may still be imported. Names are compared by indexiinprepareForMP_or_Skirmish, so the script index and name index stay aligned only if the imported sides do not reordercount. This holds. No change is needed unless the chunk has more than 64 entries; in that case imported sides past index 63 lose their scripts silently.Add a

Summary of Changes
Data/Scripts/(SkirmishScripts.scb,MultiplayerScripts.scb,Scripts.ini). BecauseTheLocalFileSystempreviously took absolute precedence overTheArchiveFileSystem, these stock vanilla script files shadowed the customized versions packaged inside mod archives (such as Shockwave's!Shw_scripts.big).
