Summary

• add a public company directory at /companies with text search and country filtering
• list organization accounts while excluding personal job-posting spaces
• show company summaries, locations, websites, and viewer-visible open-job counts
• connect the homepage company count, hiring section, header, footer, and sitemap to company discovery
• keep the homepage company total consistent with the directory scope

Why

The homepage reports the number of companies on Connect, but visitors currently have no way to browse those organizations. This makes the count useful, exposes the existing company show pages, and gives companies without active jobs a discoverable public presence.

Testing

• bundle exec standardrb on the changed Ruby files
• 18 integration tests, 182 assertions, 0 failures
• manually reviewed the directory at desktop and mobile widths

The local test process used a process-only Vips.block compatibility shim because this machine does not have the libvips method expected by the application initializer.
