A transparent text editor for macOS.

Install

Needs macOS 13 or later and the Xcode Command Line Tools (xcode-select --install).

git clone https://github.com/chakri192/vitrium.git
cd vitrium
./Scripts/bundle.sh
open build/Vitrium.app

Drag build/Vitrium.app into Applications to keep it.

Features

• See-through window with adjustable transparency

• Line numbers, auto-indent, bracket and quote pairing, comment toggling, moving and duplicating lines
• Drag files onto the window to open them
• Notices when a file changes on disk and offers to reload it
• Reopens your files where you left off
• Safe saving: an interrupted save never damages the original file
