Hi, I'm Brian Ta

Third-year undergraduate at California State University, Los Angeles, studying Computer Information Systems and Business Administration. I am pursuing both majors because I want to apply new technologies toward solving problems that are impacting people around the world.

Open to software engineering and AI internships.

What I'm working on

  • Cryo-UAV Team: Project Manager and Software Team Lead for the NASA MINDS Challenge team. Built an autonomous flight control system using a Time-of-Flight sensor for obstacle detection, OpenCV for object identification, and pygame for manual drone control. The team won 1st place for its Systems Engineering Paper in the 2025 NASA MINDS competition.
  • CAPE (Carbon-Aware Predictive Engine): NSF-funded research project predicting carbon risk in LAX air freight logistics. Live | Code
  • SAIES (Society for AI in Enterprise Systems): Vice President; built a sales intelligence dashboard that turns sales and pricing spreadsheets into KPI summaries, forecasts, and plain-English Q&A. Live | Code
  • SAIES: also built an AI-powered diagram-maker tool for business systems analysis. Live | Code
  • ICSRC (Inter-Cosmic STEM Research Club): President; built and maintain the club's website. Live | Code
