My name is Anna and I like spatial data science, data visualization, and maps. I work mainly in R and Python, and I'm learning Javascript, html, and css.
These days, I am a geospatial data scientist at a software startup in NYC. Previously, I worked at the Housing Initiative at Penn, where I got to build interactive dataviz tools and webmaps related to affordable housing.
I'm a graduate of the Master of Urban Spatial Analytics program at the University of Pennsylvania, where I conducted academic research, TAed for the graduate-level Public Policy Analytics course for several years, and graduated with the Ken Steif Award for excellent work in the Master of Urban Spatial Analytics program. I am also a proud alumna of the Urban Studies (BA) program at Penn, where my senior thesis on the changing social norms and neighborhood dynamics around a West Philadelphia bodybuilding gym won the Norman Glickman Prize for Best Senior Seminar Paper.
