Default Start menu layout

With recent updates to the Windows 11 Start menu, what should we be including as the default configuration in this project?

Here's questions I'm wanting to know opinions on:

• Recommended apps should be on or off by default?
• Recommended files should be on or off by default? (this affects File Explorer and Jump Lists)
• More apps should show Category or Grid view by default?

The new Start menu includes new layouts for more apps - here's what this look like with Category and Grid layouts - I think the Category layout makes app discovery more difficult:

From the perspective of preparing images for AVD:

• Recommended apps should be off
• Recommended files should be off
• More apps should show Grid view by default

Performance and ease of finding apps are top priority, the new Category view is a mess.
