Focused provider coverage is incomplete for changed custom-ARN capability paths. In src/api/providers/bedrock.ts, getCapabilityModelId now drives the thinking-disable branch at lines 495-498 and service-tier pricing and request handling at lines 1317-1335 and 516-567. The custom-ARN tests cover adaptive thinking, 1M context, fallback behavior, and model detection, but they do not test a custom ARN whose selected base model requires thinking: { type: "disabled" }. They also do not test custom-ARN service-tier pricing or the top-level service_tier request field. The Bedrock component tests only verify service-tier option visibility, not provider behavior. Existing service-tier and thinking-disable tests use regular model IDs, so they do not protect the new custom-ARN branch.
Resolution
Add focused src/api/providers/__tests__/bedrock.spec.ts tests. Use a custom ARN with awsCustomArnBaseModelId set to a model in BEDROCK_THINKING_DISABLE_MODEL_IDS, disable reasoning, and assert the negative thinking payload and temperature behavior. Use a custom ARN with a supported service-tier model, such as amazon.nova-lite-v1:0, and assert both FLEX/PRIORITY pricing in getModel() and the top-level SERVICE_TIER_KEY in createMessage. Add a custom Claude ARN assertion for the fine-grained tool-streaming beta if that capability remains part of the intended resolver behavior.

Description
Custom Bedrock ARNs, especially application inference profiles (e.g.
arn:aws:bedrock:us-west-2:123456789012:application-inference-profile/abcd1234efgh), don't work:Use custom: arn:...saves it asapiModelId.The backend silently falls back to the default model, so accounts restricted to inference profiles
get "You don't have access to the model specified."
custom-arn, all capability checks run against the raw ARN. An application inference profiledoesn't name its model, so Zoo Code sends budget thinking and
temperature, which current Claudemodels reject. It also caps the model at the 128k / 4,096-token fallback, so a 1M-context Opus 5.5
can't be used fully. Even inference profile ARNs that do name their model
(
inference-profile/us.anthropic.claude-opus-4-8) never get the 1M context or service-tier options.Changes:

bedrock.ts): the requestmodelIdstays the ARN. A newgetCapabilityModelIdusesthe resolved model for the thinking contract, temperature, the 1M beta, service tier, the
Claude-only tool-streaming beta, the thinking-disable list, and the model info (context window, max
tokens, prompt cache, pricing). Foundation-model ARNs ignore the base model because they already
name the invoked model.
useSelectedModelreturns the resolved model's info forcustom-arn, so the existingreasoning, temperature, 1M and service-tier controls, the context bar and the cost display all
follow it (
Bedrock.tsxchecks the resolved model for 1M and service tier). "Other" shows Contextwindow and Max output tokens fields bound to the existing
awsModelContextWindow/modelMaxTokens,defaulting to the provider fallback. Changing the base model clears the previous model's limits.

anthropic.claude-opus-5-5→ native 1M context, 128k output, adaptive thinking, notemperature.

Compatibility: with no base model set and an ARN that doesn't name one, behavior is unchanged. The new
field is part of the Bedrock provider schema, so it persists per profile and round-trips through
import/export. UI edits go through
cachedStateand persist only on Save. Settings already saved withan ARN in
apiModelIdare not migrated. Re-selecting the ARN once fixes them.Test Procedure

Results: 5 resolver, 216 Bedrock and 354 related webview tests pass.
tsc --noEmit(packages/types,src, webview-ui), ESLint (no new suppressions), Prettier and the translation check are clean.
Manual check: Settings → Amazon Bedrock → paste an application inference profile ARN in the model
search → choose
Use custom: arn:...→ Underlying modelanthropic.claude-opus-5-5→ Save. The contextbar shows 1M, and messages succeed with reasoning on and off. Repeat with a non-Anthropic base model
and with "Other" plus custom limits.
