NoGhostKitchen

An extension designed to filter out ghost kitchens from Just Eat.

It does this by checking the search URL (after you put in the postcode), searching the API for that postcode, and filtering any restaurants that have multiple businesses in a single location.

Caveats:

  • This only works in the UK
  • This doesn't work every time
    • Some ghost kitchens are inconsistent with how they address themselves - one example I have nearby myself is a kitchen addressed as "1b", one as "1b [street name]", and one as "[restaurant name] 1b [street name]". I can't fight that very well.
    • Some legitimate restaurants are extremely vague with how they address themselves - multiple Starbucks nearby myself address themselves as just "drive thru" and a postcode.
    • Some legitimate restaurants genuinely do share addresses - think a TGI Fridays inside of an Odean for example.
    • Some restaurants I consider "trusted" chains I have whitelisted, which may lead to some false-positives.

This is my best mediumest effort at something I wanted for myself.
