Lager Analyse System is a Python and PySide6 based desktop application for analyzing warehouse location data from CSV files.
The project was originally developed as an internal tool for a real warehouse environment to simplify daily warehouse operations and provide a faster overview of available storage capacity. While it was initially created for use with JTL-WMS exports, the application is not tied to JTL and can be used with any CSV file that follows the required column structure.
The primary goal of the application is to quickly identify free, occupied, blocked, inactive, and unknown storage locations without manually reviewing large CSV exports.
Note: The application's user interface is currently available in German because it was originally developed for German-speaking warehouse employees.
- Import warehouse data from CSV files
- Merge multiple CSV files into a single analysis
- Automatic storage location status detection
- Overview of free storage locations
- Overview of occupied storage locations
- Overview of blocked storage locations
- Overview of inactive storage locations
- Overview of unknown storage locations
- Advanced free-location view
- Configurable priority groups
- Configurable blacklist support
- Optional master location list
- Cross-platform Python application
- Open-source and customizable
The main window provides access to all core functions of the application.
- Load CSV files
- Add additional CSV files
- Open detail view
- Open advanced free-location view
- Open settings
The detail view displays all detected warehouse locations and their current information.
Displayed information includes:
- Storage location
- Quantity
- Status
- Item name
- Original CSV status
The advanced view provides a categorized list of currently available storage locations.
Locations can be grouped into custom categories for faster warehouse planning.
Examples:
- Goods Receiving
- Picking Area
- Reserve Storage
- High Rack Storage
The settings window allows direct editing of configuration files used by the application.
The storage location contains no stock and is available.
The storage location contains stock.
The location is blocked either through warehouse data or the blacklist configuration.
The location has been marked as inactive.
The status could not be determined reliably.
The application currently expects the following columns:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| 0 | Storage Location |
| 2 | Status |
| 3 | Quantity |
| 4 | Item Name |
Example:
A-01;...;FREE;0;Example Item
File:
assets/masterlist.txt
Contains known storage locations.
This file is optional and can be used as an additional reference for warehouse structures.
File:
assets/blacklist.txt
Locations listed here will be treated as blocked.
Example use cases:
- Damaged locations
- Reserved locations
- Permanently unavailable locations
File:
assets/priority_places.txt
Allows custom grouping of storage locations.
Example:
%GOODS_RECEIVING%
AA-01
AA-02
AA-03
%PICKING%
AB-01
AB-02
BA-03
These categories are displayed in the Advanced Free Location View.

This application was created to solve a practical warehouse management problem in a production environment.
Many warehouse management systems can export location data, but they often do not provide a quick overview of available storage capacity. This tool was developed to automate that process and provide warehouse staff with an immediate overview of free and occupied locations.
The project originated as an internal business tool and was later prepared for public release as an open-source project.
