chore(release): upload the Asset Store product as a UPM package - #439
Merged

Conversation
The store product moves to the UPM Publisher Portal (product fastTools, technical name tech.aspid.fasttools), so buyers install a real package from My Assets instead of importing a .unitypackage. - SETUP.md: install from My Assets into Packages, samples from the Samples tab, troubleshooting for the registry install. - asp-ft-release: the Asset Store upload uses the UPM portal and Asset Store UPM Publishing Tools; a stable tag waits until the store publishes the version. - Release checklist follows the new upload and order. - The dev project drops the embedded com.unity.asset-store-tools and UNITY_ASTOOLS_EXPERIMENTAL and lists com.unity.upm-publishing-tools. Verdict: 1 blocking, 3 minor |
A merge of the release PR switches the READMEs and the site to #upm before the tag publishes upm, so a store review between the merge and the tag broke the git URL install. The upload now runs from the release branch head; the PR merges after the store publishes the version, and a rejection closes it unmerged. The checklist splits the pre-upload smoke from the steps after the upload. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
The package resolves only for an account that has it in My Assets, and one dependency that fails to download stops the whole resolve, so every other clone of the dev project would open with an error. The tool now lives only in the upload project. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

The package CHANGELOG is generated from the root one, so the hold now covers both CHANGELOGs. A rerun with the same version deletes the old release branch first, and an early merge gets two recovery paths. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Why. The Asset Store product moves to the UPM Publisher Portal, so buyers get a real package from My Assets, and the old
