What this does

Four commits that turn the audit decisions of 2026-10-10 into code:

  1. impeccable leaves the project layer (fdf52b2): its config, the CI detector job and the renders row that named it; renders is now a manual walkthrough with a defer: marker.
  2. The design method leaves the framework layer (805c84b): enforcement signal, stack gate, third-party declaration, ignore rules, docs. Decision 0023 supersedes 0020; the word is denylisted.
  3. The library ships as the vibe plugin (bd82b8a): plugins/vibe/ with 14 skills (start and handoff new; checkpoint, handover, calibrate, critical-thinking, scope-guard, design-guard, ingest, skill-author folded in or retired), three review agents on Sonnet, hooks.json (guard plus the handoff echo on compaction), four eval cases, and a marketplace manifest at the root. .agents/skills is a symlink into the plugin. Decision 0024.
  4. AGENTS.md shrinks from 141 to 50 lines (6a9dcb5): session protocol, four hard rules, the map, the conflict rule. The decision ladder moves to docs/standards/GLOBAL.md; the Gemini bridge and its gate are gone.

Proof

  • node checks/check.mjs: green, 22 gates.
  • All 19 self-test suites green (check, check-code, check-config, check-trace, check-stack, progress, progress-work, links, work, the six board suites, guard, evidence, drill, drill-adopt).
  • node checks/drill.mjs: a fresh copy reaches a governed first commit (162 files, symlink intact).
  • claude plugin validate ./plugins/vibe and claude plugin validate .: pass; the one warning is the deliberately omitted plugin version (no version means every commit on main is an update).
  • Every commit went through the real pre-commit and commit-msg hooks.

Not in this PR (recorded as DEBT-004 and DEBT-005, decision 0024)

  • checks/guard.mjs exists twice (project hooks and plugin hook) until the drill and the enforcement line read the plugin's copy.
  • A governed project with the plugin installed sees each skill twice; begin will drop the .claude/skills symlink when the plugin is present.

After merge

claude plugin marketplace add Tradebaas/Groundwork
claude plugin install vibe@groundwork --scope user

Then from plugins/vibe/: claude plugin eval . --scaffold --allow-tools Write Edit "Bash(git *)" "Bash(node *)" "Bash(npm test *)".

The installed design method goes: its per-project config, the CI job that
ran its detector and the renders row that named it. The renders class is
answered honestly as a manual browser walkthrough before a release, with a
defer marker that names the upgrade trigger (a screenshot check in CI).

What still refers to the method in the framework layer is retired in the
commits that follow.

The installed method is gone from the checks and the docs: the enforcement
signal that read its version, the stack gate that looked for its detector,
the third-party declaration in checks/config.json, the ignore rules for its
payload, and every mention in DESIGN.md, PRODUCT.md, the manifest and the
global standards. Decision 0023 records why and supersedes 0020; the word
is in the denylist so it cannot return by habit.

The skills move from .agents/skills to plugins/vibe/skills, with a
marketplace manifest at the root so one install per machine brings them
into any repository. .agents/skills stays as a symlink into the plugin, so
the framework's own sessions and the adoption drill keep one path.

What changed on the way: start and handoff are new (handoff folds in
checkpoint and handover); calibrate, critical-thinking, scope-guard,
design-guard, ingest and skill-author are folded into the skills that used
them or retired; begin, deliver, maintain and start carry
disable-model-invocation so their bodies cost nothing until the owner
runs them; code-review hands its axes to three review agents on Sonnet;
hooks.json wires the guard and echoes the handoff block after a
compaction; four eval cases cover the promises the plugin makes. The
skills gate reads the plugin directory and no longer asks AGENTS.md for a
registration. Decision 0024 records the route and the two deferrals.

The rulebook goes from 141 lines to 50: the session protocol, four hard
rules, the map of where everything lives and the conflict rule. The
decision ladder moves to docs/standards/GLOBAL.md beside the floors it
belongs with, the skills table is gone because the plugin manifest is the
registry, and the efficiency section is gone because start and handoff
carry it. The Gemini bridge and its gate leave with decision 0024: Claude
Code is the tool, and the one-line CLAUDE.md bridge stays.
