Use this page to download or copy the project files:
If you use GitHub in a browser, you can:
- Open the link above
- Click the green Code button
- Choose Download ZIP
- Save the file to your computer
- Extract the ZIP file to a folder you can find again
If you use Git, you can clone the project to your computer with the same link.
wechat-agent-connector helps connect a WeChat session to an agent workflow on your computer.
It is built for a local setup where a tool can:
- install the needed skill files
- bind the current folder as the working folder
- start the gateway needed for the agent
- guide you through WeChat login by QR code
- keep the project folder tied to one clear path
This setup works best when you want your current folder to act as the main project folder.
Make sure you have:
- a Windows computer
- internet access
- enough space to extract the project files
- WeChat available on your phone if the login flow needs QR scan
- a terminal tool that can run commands, such as PowerShell, Windows Terminal, or a supported agent CLI
If you plan to use an AI tool to do the install for you, make sure it can run terminal commands on your machine.
Follow these steps in order.
Open the download page:
Then download the project and place it in a folder you can access easily.
A simple choice is:
C:\Users\YourName\Downloads\wechat-agent-connector- or another folder under your user profile
If you already have the folder, you can use it as is.
Open a terminal in the folder where you saved or extracted the project.
If you use File Explorer:
- Open the folder
- Click the address bar
- Type
cmdorpowershell - Press Enter
This opens a terminal in that folder.
Inside the project folder, run the setup script that comes with the repo.
The project includes scripts that handle the skill install and the WeChat agent setup path.
If you are using an AI tool, give it the install prompt from the repository README and let it run the scripts in the correct folder.
If you are running commands yourself, use the scripts provided in the repo and keep each step in the project folder.
If the setup asks for WeChat login, follow the QR code scan steps.
Typical flow:
- Keep your phone nearby
- Open WeChat on your phone
- Scan the QR code if one appears
- Finish the login request on your device
Do not close the terminal while this is happening.
After install, the tool should report:
- whether the skill is installed
- whether the gateway is running
- whether WeChat is connected
- which adapter is active
- which project folder is bound
If the setup tool prints those values, save them for later use.
After setup, the connector works as part of your local agent workflow.
You can use it when you want:
- a fixed project folder for WeChat tasks
- one local path that the agent can use each time
- a repeatable install process
- a clean link between the skill and your current folder
Keep the project folder in the same place once you finish setup. Moving it can break the path that the agent uses.
To avoid path problems on Windows:
- use a folder with a short path
- avoid folders with special characters
- avoid moving the folder after setup
- keep the project under your user directory if possible
Good examples:
C:\Users\YourName\wechat-agent-connectorD:\Projects\wechat-agent-connector
Less ideal examples:
- folders inside temporary download locations
- paths with unusual symbols
- nested paths that are hard to find later
When WeChat needs to connect:
- the tool may open a QR scan step
- your phone may ask you to confirm the login
- the agent may wait until the connection is ready
- once connected, the gateway should stay active while the session runs
If the login fails, check the QR step first. Most setup issues happen during login, not during install.
This repository is designed around one main idea: the current folder becomes the working folder.
That means the connector expects a clear project path and uses it each time it starts.
For a smooth setup:
- choose one folder
- keep that folder fixed
- run the install from that folder
- avoid using a parent folder by mistake
- do not mix files from other projects into it
The folder path matters because the setup binds the agent to that path.
You may use this connector when you want to:
- start a WeChat-linked agent from a local folder
- keep your agent files in one place
- let an AI tool run setup commands for you
- reuse the same project folder across sessions
- manage a WeChat agent without manual script edits
After a normal setup, you should have:
- the skill installed from the repo scripts
- a running gateway process
- a WeChat connection ready or active
- a defined adapter in use
- a project directory bound to your current folder
If these items are not ready, the setup did not finish yet.
If you want to confirm the setup, look for signs like:
- the terminal shows the install script completed
- a gateway process starts without error
- the QR login step appears when needed
- the tool reports the current adapter
- the bound projectDir matches the folder you chose
These checks help confirm that the connector is tied to the right place.
If you need to start over:
- Close the terminal
- Make sure the gateway is not still running
- Return to the same project folder
- Run the install steps again from that folder
- Repeat the login flow if needed
Use the same folder each time if you want the same binding.

If you want an AI agent to do the setup for you, give it the install prompt from the repository README and tell it to use the current folder as the working folder
Make sure it follows the repo scripts and keeps every command in the correct directory
