Chibipaintmod - is a modification of web program chibipaint (http://chibipaint.com/) which was sadly stopped being developed in 2008. Since this program is rather good for drawing especially among free drawing programs, then I decided to continue it's development, mostly targeted to make it usable as an offline application. Sadly java is not such a good platform for working with big amounts of memory even though it makes program easily portable on every popular OS.
Actually if you look at ChibiPaint there are a lot of features that were mimicked from well-known and popular program paintTool SAI, but since it costs quite a bit, plus there are already some features in ChibiPaint missing in SAI, and also it's not being developed anymore too, I guess developing ChibiPaint could bring some benefit in terms of good free drawing program availability. Major features missing in comparison with SAI currently:
- Complex selection and their transformation
- Hotkey system
- Support of many file formats expect native
