Background

The .NET 4.6.2 framework reaches end of life in January 2027

While we technically don't need to stop targeting it yet, it was released in August 2016, over a decade ago now, and it is known to be a bit problematic; it can run netstandard2.0 things but it requires a ton of shims and is pretty brittle. net472 is more robust and doesn't have a noted EOL date.

All the Octopus consumers of this project are on net48 or net10; Any third-party consumers which require net462 support can continue to install the current 2.0.550 version of the nuget package.

Results

Updates the .NET Framework target from net462 to net472 in Octodiff and Octodiff.Tests, including the NET462 conditional compilation symbols.

Reducing Risk

I ran all the net10 tests on macOS before creating the PR. The build process runs them all on windows, everything is green.
