Welcome to geneforge. This program helps you design new proteins that can aid in drug discovery and synthetic biology. You donβt need a technical background to use this application. Follow these steps to install and run it on your computer.
To get started, visit this page to download:

Go to the Releases page.

You will see a list of versions. Find the most recent one and click on it.

Look for the files available for download. They usually have the latest features and improvements.

Choose the file that matches your operating system. For example, if you are using Windows, download the
.exefile. If you are on macOS, choose the.dmgfile, and for Linux users, select the appropriate package. -
Click the file name to start downloading. Save the file to your computer in a location you can easily find.

Once the download is complete, double-click the file to start the installation process. Follow the on-screen instructions to install geneforge.

After installation, you can find the application in your Programs or Applications folder, depending on your operating system.
To ensure that geneforge runs smoothly, please make sure your computer meets the following requirements:
- Operating System: Windows 10 or later, macOS 10.14 or later, or a modern Linux distribution.
- RAM: At least 4 GB.
- Disk Space: At least 500 MB free space.
- Processor: 2.0 GHz dual-core or higher.
- Protein Design: Easily design proteins using advanced algorithms.
- Evolutionary Algorithms: Utilize evolutionary strategies for better results.
- Deep Learning: Leverage deep learning techniques to refine protein structures.
