Building Open Technologies for the Future.
Welcome to the official GitHub home of Nexment.
Nexment is an open-source technology project dedicated to building modern software from the ground up. Rather than being a single application or organization around one product, Nexment serves as the foundation under which long-term software projects are designed, developed, and maintained.
Every project is guided by the same principles: performance, privacy, simplicity, maintainability, and openness.
Our journey begins with Nexment CLI and AvenOS, with many more technologies planned for the future.
Software should be designed for the long term.
Nexment exists to build technologies that remain useful, understandable, and maintainable for years—not just until the next trend.
Instead of creating isolated applications, Nexment focuses on building an ecosystem where every project has a clear purpose while remaining powerful on its own.
Our philosophy is simple:
Build software that respects users, solves real problems, and stands the test of time.
One CLI. Every Developer.
Nexment CLI is an open-source, intent-based developer command-line tool that provides one consistent interface across programming languages, frameworks, package managers, and development tools.
Instead of remembering dozens of ecosystem-specific commands, developers simply express what they want to do.
nexment run
nexment build
nexment test
nexment add react
nexment remove axios
nexment formatNexment CLI automatically detects the current project and executes the correct workflow.
Current Status:
- Active Development
A modern operating system built from scratch.
AvenOS is Nexment's long-term operating system project.
Unlike systems built on existing operating systems, AvenOS is being developed independently from the ground up using Rust, with only minimal Assembly where hardware requires it.
The long-term vision includes building:
- Custom Bootloader
- Custom Kernel
- Custom File System
- Desktop Environment
- Window Manager
- System Applications
- Developer SDK
- Complete Operating System Ecosystem
Current Status:
- Early Development (Pre-Alpha)
Every Nexment project follows the same core principles.
- Open Source by Default
- Performance-First Engineering
- Privacy and User Control
- Security by Design
- Simplicity over Complexity
- Modern, Maintainable Architecture
- Consistent Developer Experience
- Long-Term Sustainability
These principles guide every architectural and engineering decision across the ecosystem.
Nexment is intended to grow over many years.
Future projects may include:
- Operating System Technologies
- Developer Tools
- Desktop Applications
- Programming Languages
- Compilers
- Code Editors
- Filesystems
- Package Managers
- Browsers
- Developer SDKs
- Cloud Infrastructure
- AI-powered Developer Tools
- System Libraries
Each project will be developed independently while sharing the same design philosophy.
Nexment believes great software should be built in the open.
All projects are developed with transparency, maintainability, and community collaboration in mind.
As projects mature, community contributions, discussions, issue reports, documentation improvements, and feature proposals will become an important part of development.
Nexment is currently focused on two flagship projects.
| Project | Status |
|---|---|
| Nexment CLI | 🚧 Active Development |
| AvenOS | 🚧 Early Development |
More projects will be introduced as the ecosystem grows.
Nexment is created and maintained by Ansh Raj.
Passionate about systems programming, developer tools, operating systems, and building software with long-term value, Nexment represents a commitment to creating modern open technologies one project at a time.
Every great project starts with a single commit.
Whether you're interested in systems programming, developer tooling, operating systems, or open-source software, you're welcome to follow the journey, explore the repositories, report issues, suggest ideas, and contribute as the projects mature.
Thank you for supporting Nexment.
