feat(currency): add BTC, LBTC and RBTC to the catalogue - #911
Refs #907 (items 2–5). Stacked on #910 (amounts): its base is that branch. Merge #908 and #909 first too: without #908 the node's on-chain BTC quote is dropped and Market stays locked for BTC.
Type
feat
What changes and why
On-chain BTC, L-BTC (Liquid) and RBTC (Rootstock) become pickable order currencies, pegged 1:1 to bitcoin.
Catalogue:assets/data/fiat.json gets the three entries, with "peg": "BTC".
FiatCurrency:
isPegged means any peg; isBtcPegged means the peg is BTC; isStablecoin now means a fiat peg.
currencyPegsProvider maps every pegged code to its peg, for the mark.
stablecoinPegsProvider keeps only the stablecoins.
A test holds the catalogue's BTC-pegged entries equal to btcPeggedCodes.
Pickers and filter: the create-order picker, the default currency and the order book filter show the three codes last, under a "Bitcoin on other networks" header, in every locale.
Mark: the same neutral coin, with ₿ in it; Manrope Bold has U+20BF. DS-TYP-9 now covers every pegged code.
Market lock: it applies to every pegged code, so a node that does not quote RBTC locks Market for it as it does for USDT.
Create order: the currency picker (currency_section.dart) and the Market lock (price_section.dart).
Settings: the default currency (currency_selector_dialog.dart).
Order book: the filter (order_filter.dart).
Every currency mark (currency_mark.dart).
Data:fiat_currencies.dart, currency_group_header.dart, fiat.json, payment_methods.json, and .specify/DESIGN_SYSTEM.md (DS-TYP-9).
Blast radius
Stablecoins: they behave as before. Their grouping and their trade copy read stablecoinPegsProvider, which leaves the new codes out.
Persisted settings: a stored default currency or filter of BTC, LBTC or RBTC is accepted; a node that does not take the code is handled by fiatForNode as before.
New l10n key:bitcoinNetworksGroupHeader, in all 7 locales, with the regenerated code.
None by hand (see Manual testing). flutter test on Linux.
Manual testing
Not run. I could not run the app against a Mostro node here.
Setup
App built from this branch, against a mostrod with [price.providers.pegged] enabled = true and only = ["RBTC"], with RBTC and LBTC in fiat_currencies_accepted.
Steps
As a maker, open the currency picker. Expected: BTC, LBTC and RBTC last, under "BITCOIN ON OTHER NETWORKS", each with a ₿ coin.
Pick RBTC. Expected: Market is available; the payment method offered is RBTC (Rootstock).
Pick LBTC, which the node does not quote. Expected: Market is locked with "This node doesn't quote LBTC at market price…".
Regression: pick USDT. Expected: as on main, under "STABLECOINS".
Not covered
iOS and Android devices.
Screenshots
Visible change: the new picker group, the ₿ coin and the filter group. Screenshots not captured, because I could not run the app here; they are needed before merge. Design-guide rule touched: DS-TYP-9, whose wording now covers every pegged code.
Automated tests
fiat_currencies_test:
the getters for each kind of code;
the picker rows with both headers;
the bundled catalogue's BTC-pegged entries equal btcPeggedCodes.
currency_mark_test: every pegged code is drawn as a coin, and pegSign('BTC') is ₿.
price_section_test: Market is locked for an RBTC the node does not quote.
payment_methods_provider_test: one method per code, naming its network.
Whole suite: every new test passes, and the 98 failures are the same files as on a clean main.
Checklist
cd rust && cargo fmt --check && cargo clippy -- -D warnings && cargo test pass locally: no Rust change.
dart format --set-exit-if-changed ., flutter analyze and flutter test pass locally: flutter analyze reports only the existing trades_screen.dart info. The changed lines keep the repository's style (my local Flutter 3.47.8 formats differently from CI's 3.41.9).
Changed rust/src/api/ or an .arb: regenerated AppLocalizations committed in the same commit
New or changed user-facing text: every locale updated, no hardcoded strings
On-chain BTC, L-BTC (Liquid) and RBTC (Rootstock) become pickable
order currencies, pegged 1:1 to bitcoin (mostro docs/PRICE_PROVIDERS.md
§11.9, protocol "Bitcoin on other networks").
- fiat.json: the three entries, with "peg": "BTC".
- FiatCurrency: isPegged (any peg), isBtcPegged (peg "BTC") and
isStablecoin (a fiat peg). currencyPegsProvider maps every pegged
code to its peg for the mark; stablecoinPegsProvider keeps only the
stablecoins, so the stablecoin grouping and trade hint leave the new
codes out.
- The pickers (create order, default currency) and the order book
filter show them last, under a "Bitcoin on other networks" header,
translated in every locale.
- The mark is the same neutral coin with "₿" inside (Manrope Bold has
U+20BF); DS-TYP-9 now covers every pegged code.
- The Market lock applies to every pegged code, so a node that does
not quote RBTC locks Market for it as for USDT.
- payment_methods.json: one method per code, its network, written
"<CODE> (<Network>)" as the protocol book asks.

The currency catalogue now includes BTC, LBTC, and RBTC as BTC-pegged entries. Currency classification, picker groups, currency marks, payment methods, and Market pricing checks now handle pegged currencies separately from fiat-pegged stablecoins.

Summary
Catalogue and peg classification .specify/DESIGN_SYSTEM.md, assets/data/fiat.json, lib/shared/utils/fiat_currencies.dart, test/shared/utils/fiat_currencies_test.dart
The catalogue adds BTC, LBTC, and RBTC. Currency classification and picker rows distinguish BTC-pegged entries from stablecoins. Tests cover the classification and row ordering.
Currency groups and marks lib/shared/widgets/currency_group_header.dart, lib/shared/widgets/currency_mark.dart, lib/shared/widgets/order_filter.dart, lib/features/order/widgets/currency_section.dart, lib/features/settings/widgets/currency_selector_dialog.dart, lib/l10n/*, test/shared/widgets/currency_mark_test.dart
Picker and filter surfaces show a separate Bitcoin-networks group. Localizations provide its header, and currency marks use the peg mapping, including the Bitcoin sign for BTC.
Market pricing and payment methods lib/features/order/widgets/price_section.dart, assets/data/payment_methods.json, test/features/order/providers/payment_methods_provider_test.dart, test/features/order/widgets/price_section_test.dart
Unquoted pegged currencies can lock Market pricing. BTC, LBTC, and RBTC have network-specific payment methods. Tests cover the payment methods and the RBTC Market lock.
MostroP2P/app#894: This change extends the stablecoin peg and Market-lock paths introduced by that PR.
MostroP2P/app#904: Both PRs update payment-method data and tests for pegged currencies.
MostroP2P/app#908: This change’s Market-lock behavior depends on the exchange-rate lookup behavior addressed by that PR.

Merge Risk: Moderate · up to b3c32
Buyers and sellers trading BTC, LBTC, or RBTC would see generic payment instructions without the wrong-network warning or transaction-ID check, which risks funds sent on the wrong network. BTC orders also cannot use Market pricing, which is the default mode. Fix both before merging.

Explanation
The title "feat(currency): add BTC, LBTC and RBTC to the catalogue" matches the main change. The PR adds three Bitcoin-pegged currencies (on-chain BTC, L-BTC on Liquid, RBTC on Rootstock) as selectable order currencies. The title is specific and follows a conventional commit format. It names only the catalogue, while the changeset also covers pickers, Market lock, marks, payment methods, and localization, which the title does not need to list.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The description follows the repository template. It has a linked issue (Refs #907, stacked on #910, with merge-order notes), a type (feat), a what-and-why section, affected flows by file, blast radius, platforms tested, manual testing steps, screenshots status, automated tests, a checklist, and AI assistance. Gaps remain. Manual testing was not run, and the screenshots are missing even though the template requires them for visible changes. The Closes line is replaced by Refs, and the Platforms tested section says 'None by hand'. The checklist also has unchecked items the author did not complete. These gaps are stated clearly, but the template sections are present and mostly filled.
