RatesManager is an EdgeTX tool for managing Betaflight rate profiles on the radio. It keeps a local profile library, edits the currently active flight-controller profile, and safely transfers one or all three switch-accessible rate profiles over an ExpressLRS/CRSF connection.
The interface is designed for both compact 128 x 64 radios such as the RadioMaster Boxer and larger color radios such as the TX16S.
Preview status: successfully tested at home on a RadioMaster Boxer connected to a quad. Real field testing with the Boxer is still pending. Feedback from RadioMaster TX16 users is welcome, especially about layout and display compatibility. Remove propellers before testing any FC write operation.
- Keep up to 12 local rate profiles with favorites, renaming, duplication, deletion, and one-level aircraft folders.
- Edit Betaflight Actual Rates, throttle settings, limits, and related profile fields.
- Read, edit, reload, and persist the active FC rate profile without leaving the page.
- Map local profiles to FC slots P1-P3 and synchronize them in one guided operation.
- Choose persistent Send FLASH or deliberate temporary Send TEMP behavior.
- Download P1-P3 from an FC into an aircraft folder, using the FC's rate-profile names.
- Handle AUX-bound profile switches with a stable
Use AUX switch / Select Pn to continueprompt. - Back up every target before writing, verify every result, and roll back a failed batch before flash storage.
- Edit profile files locally in the included browser-based profile editor.
Typical uses include maintaining consistent rates across several aircraft, preparing beginner or cinematic profiles, copying a known setup to a replacement FC, and testing temporary rates before making them persistent.
Download or clone the repository, then use one of these methods:
Right-click install.ps1, choose Run with PowerShell, and follow the prompt. From a terminal you can also specify the SD-card drive letter:
.\install.ps1 -SdRoot ERun uninstall.ps1 and enter the SD-card drive letter. Saved .txt and .bak rate data is backed up into backups/ in the repository before the RatesManager files are removed:
.\uninstall.ps1 -SdRoot E./install.sh /media/EDGE_TXCopy the repository's SCRIPTS folder into the root of the EdgeTX SD card and merge it with the existing SCRIPTS folder. Open SYS -> Tools -> BFRatesManager on the radio.
Installers copy only program files. Existing bfr3-*.txt and .bak profile data are not removed or overwritten.
The static editor is published through GitHub Pages and is also available locally as docs/index.html. It reads and writes profile files entirely in the browser; no profile data is uploaded.
- FC writes are blocked while armed.
- Each selected slot is confirmed twice before a write.
- Rates and supported FC profile names are read back after writing.
- Send FLASH issues exactly one EEPROM write after the entire batch verifies.
- Send TEMP never writes EEPROM and is lost on FC reboot.
- Failed pre-flash batches are rolled back from a bounded backup.
The FC may force the active rate slot from an AUX switch. Follow the displayed switch instruction only when prompted. Always test without propellers first.
npm install
npm testThe test suite parses all shipped Lua files and runs the actual online module against a virtual EdgeTX CRSF link and Betaflight FC. It covers delayed and fragmented MSP replies, queue pressure, AUX-controlled slots, RAM versus flash behavior, profile downloads, corrupted sequences, armed rejection, lost acknowledgements, and rollback.
