Description

This PR updates the dependency constraints in composer.json to ensure compatibility with the latest versions of major frameworks (Laravel 13 and Symfony 8). It
also performs a final cleanup of the configuration.

Changes

  • Framework Compatibility:
    • Updated illuminate/cache to support ^10.0 || ^11.0 || ^12.0 || ^13.0.
    • Updated symfony/cache and symfony/clock to support versions up to ^8.0.
  • Cleanup:
    • Permanently removed the config block from composer.json, as the kylekatarnls/update-helper plugin is no longer used.

Impact

This PR supercedes and replaces #210 by providing Laravel 13 compatibility on top of our modernized PHP 8.2+ and PSR-20 codebase.

Verification

  • Successfully ran composer update which resolved to the latest stable versions (including Laravel 12.x components).
  • All tests passed successfully on PHP 8.5.

Note: Once merged, PR #210 can be closed.

Code Review

This pull request updates the composer.json file to broaden framework compatibility and perform some cleanup. The dependency constraints for illuminate/cache and symfony/cache are updated to support newer versions of Laravel and Symfony, respectively. Additionally, the configuration for a now-unused composer plugin is removed. The changes are correct and align with the goal of modernizing the library's dependencies. I have found no issues in this pull request.

Note: Security Review has been skipped due to the limited scope of the PR.
