Platinum Blockchain

Platinum (PLAT) is an open-source cryptocurrency built on a hybrid Proof of Stake (PoS) and Masternode consensus model. Inspired by the Bitcoin, Dash and PIVX codebases, Platinum was designed to provide a secure, decentralized and energy-efficient blockchain suitable for everyday digital payments.

Unlike traditional Proof of Work cryptocurrencies, Platinum utilizes an energy-efficient staking protocol that significantly reduces power consumption while maintaining network security through decentralized consensus and masternode infrastructure.

Consensus

The Platinum blockchain uses a hybrid consensus model based on:

  • Proof of Stake (PoS)
  • Masternodes
  • SwiftTX instant transaction system

Each Masternode requires 3,000 DASHP as collateral and receives 80% of the block reward, while staking wallets receive the remaining 20%.

Build Dependencies

The project is based on the Bitcoin, Dash and PIVX codebases and uses the standard cryptocurrency development stack.

Typical dependencies include:

  • C++
  • Qt Framework
  • Berkeley DB
  • Boost
  • OpenSSL
  • MiniUPnPc
  • LevelDB
  • Protobuf

Network Features
