# x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu is the runner's own triple, so it builds
# natively, without `--target`. Naming it makes soldr switch to its
# glibc-2.17 catalogue sysroot and point PKG_CONFIG_LIBDIR there, which
# hides Ubuntu's GTK/WebKit from pkg-config, so glib-sys fails (#285).
# The artifact names and wheel plat tag still use inputs.rust-target.

Native x86_64 builds can ship a manylinux_2_28 wheel that will not start on glibc 2.28–2.33.

Removing --target for x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu links the bundled binary against the runner's glibc. The wheel platform tag still says manylinux_2_28_x86_64. Nothing in the workflow checks the glibc floor or repairs the wheel. On glibc 2.28–2.33 systems, the fastled binary can fail at startup. The previous explicit-target build used soldr's glibc-2.17 sysroot, so the tag matched the binary's actual glibc requirement. That match no longer holds.

Changing the tag alone is not a safe fix. ci/release_artifact_lint.py maps this target to manylinux_2_28_x86_64, so a retag must update that lint as well. A safe fix needs either a glibc-compatible build for the wheel or a retag that matches the real floor.

Review comment at @.github/workflows/_build.yml around lines 113 - 128:
Update the fastled CLI wheel build so its binary’s glibc requirement matches the
wheel’s manylinux_2_28_x86_64 tag: either build against a compatible glibc
sysroot or determine the actual glibc floor and retag accordingly. If changing
the tag, also update the target mapping in ci/release_artifact_lint.py; do not
leave the wheel tag and binary requirement inconsistent.
