In this docs/treasures folder, there is already a stripped-down agent version for BusyBox.
However, this version is based on Agent version 1.5.0 as far as I can see and lacks many modern architectural changes regarding caching, async execution etc.
This new version is based on the 2.5.0 vanilla Linux agent and has been adapted to it and tested to work under RHEL-based, stripped-down Linux distributions running BusyBox.
What I have done:
More details how this came about can be found at the forum at https://forum.checkmk.com/t/a-more-modern-agent-adapted-from-2-5-0-for-busybox-based-systems-and-appliances/60617
If you don't like the old version being replaced by this one, maybe it would be an idea to rename the old one to "check_mk_agent_1_5_0.busybox" or the like, or rename this new one.
I hope it you find it useful (and it passes your tests) - cheers and best regards,
Fabian
