The AutARK project was a three-year research initiative (2023–2025) at the Chair of Human-Computer Interaction at TU Dresden, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs (BMAS, grant no. FT 1 – 58330).
The project aimed to improve the employability of people on the autism spectrum in the general labor market by developing AI-based technical assistance systems for everyday work. Three core areas were addressed: reduction of sensory overstimulation, support for verbal and written communication, and assistance with task and schedule management. Solutions were developed in a human-centered co-design process together with autistic people and other stakeholders, and evaluated at a pilot workplace.
