[Bug]: Typing becomes sluggish in Rider after prolonged use with Material Theme UI enabled

Describe the bug

When Material Theme UI is enabled, typing in JetBrains Rider becomes noticeably sluggish after using the IDE for a while.

Disabling Material Theme UI resolves the typing lag. The issue affects everyday code editing.

To Reproduce

1. Enable Material Theme UI in Rider.
2. Open a project and continue editing code for an extended period.
3. Observe the responsiveness when typing.
4. Disable Material Theme UI and compare typing responsiveness.

I have not yet identified the exact duration or sequence of actions required to trigger the slowdown

Expected behavior

Typing should remain responsive throughout the IDE session.

I never encountered such sluggishness, but I can maybe recommend you to disable the plugins that you don't use:

• Language Additions
• Peek
• Stylish Regions
• Window Coloring
• Project Banner

Try to see if that improves it.

By the way: the EAP versions are not officially supported.

As you requested, I disabled some features. However, I've noticed that when I switch between a lot of document tabs, the application seems to become laggy.

I don't know how to reproduce this behavior unfortunately, this is not something I can just guess.

Perhaps if you have an example project?

Another question: does it work better in 2026.2 ?
