Hi, I'm Ahmed, a software engineer based in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq. I build web applications end to end, from the interface people click on down to the APIs, databases and servers behind them.
Most of what I do is full-stack. React and Next.js on the front end, Node and Python on the back, plus the unglamorous parts that keep software running: REST APIs, SQL databases, authentication, payments and deployment on AWS, Docker and Vercel. Some of my recent projects involve AI and agents, but that's one area I work in, not the whole story.
A few things I've built:
- Wathifa: a job-matching platform I built solo, front to back, with employer dashboards, candidate scoring, Stripe payments and document storage on AWS S3.
- Companion: a desktop assistant that can control a browser, read the local file system and manage Gmail to handle repetitive tasks.
- A bunch of smaller tools and side projects, usually started just to figure out how something worked.
