This project is small. A formal code of conduct mostly exists so we have one to point to if it ever needs to come up. The short version: be kind, be useful, assume good faith, and don't be the reason someone stops contributing.
Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment include:
- Using welcoming and inclusive language.
- Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences.
- Gracefully accepting constructive feedback.
- Focusing on what is best for the project.
- Showing empathy toward other community members.
Examples of unacceptable behavior:
- Personal attacks, insults, or derogatory remarks.
- Public or private harassment of any kind.
- Publishing someone else's private information without their explicit permission.
- Sustained disruption of discussions, issues, or pull requests.
- Conduct that would reasonably be considered inappropriate in a professional setting.
This Code of Conduct applies to all project spaces — issues, pull requests, discussions, commit messages, code review, and any other interaction conducted under this repository. It also applies when an individual is representing the project in a public forum.
Reports of unacceptable behavior may be sent to the maintainer (@whtis) via the contact information on their GitHub profile.
All complaints will be reviewed and acted on as the maintainer deems necessary and appropriate. Possible responses include:
- A private clarification of expectations.
- A public correction in the relevant thread.
- A temporary ban from project spaces.
- A permanent ban from project spaces.
The maintainer's decision is final.
This document is loosely adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.1, with significant simplification appropriate to a personal-scale project. If this project grows past one maintainer, this document should be revisited.
