Is Database node recorded as a span or trace ?

If we deploy a Node/Java Application which writes and reads data to/from MySQL (AWS RDS or hosted on VM) or DynamoDB (PaaS).. Can we see MySQL node in service map ?
Something like this

For example from this kind of service map I can understand that Dispatch service writes to a database node

Please let me know is this possible ? or even if DB details are a available under span / trace please let me know.
