Helm v4 support

I'm fairly certain that for chart producers there's no changes?

Ran a quick helm template here with 3 and 4 - they result in the same output (with default values).

Yes, I also run it locally works fine, but few things should be added like #178 (if you create a new helm with v4 uses already httpRoute (which according to what I read, the old ingress deprecates and may lose support on Q1 2026)

I put this issue here to collect what might be need to update before potential deprecated API break something or some new best practices are not visible yet.

I don't think Gateway API is in any way related to Helm 4? That's a capability of Kubernetes itself - not Helm?

As an aside, it's only the ingress-nginx that's going EOL in March - other controllers should still continue to support Ingress resources (a few of them definitely support both - Ingress and Gateway API), so there's no need, strictly speaking, to replace the Ingress resource itself (although I suspect a lot of people will look to take the opportunity to migrate from Ingress to Gateway API at the same time as they are retiring ingress-nginx).

yes, you are right, but the values.yaml requires some httpRoute setup as far I know currently do not exist, but I am no the expert here, since is disabled by default I don't run it locally.

Yeah, I'd imagine there would be something like gatewayApi.enabled (not sure if there's a community convention for that just yet), and it would produce new resources, but all of that is part of #178 - nothing to do with Helm 4?

Probably not :) so far works fine ... but I'll let others to test over the next months and leave some feedback here.
