Describe the Bug

It seems that Page Overlay causes the last opened book to be re-indexed. When Page Overlay is enabled and the X4 is turned off while a book is open, the next time it is turned on, an “Indexing” message appears for about 5 seconds before the book opens. This does not happen with any other sleep screen mode.

Additionally, if Page Overlay is enabled and the device is turned off from the main menu, the sleep image is overlaid with gibberish text. I suspect this might be binary content from an EPUB file?

Steps to Reproduce

• Set Sleep Screen to Page Overlay.
• Open an EPUB.
• Turn the device OFF.
• Turn the device ON → An “Indexing” message appears.
• Go to the main screen.
• Turn the device OFF → Gibberish text appears on top of the sleep image.

Expected Behavior

No “Indexing” message should appear and no gibberish text over the sleep screen.

The gibberish is because there is no page for the "page overlay". It needs a book page for it to put into memory to display with the png. If there isn't a book it ends up not being able to render a page so that's why you see the gibberish

Yeah, I understand that and it was also my suspicion. But I think it would be nice to have some kind of failsafe, that if there is no page to load, it would either switch to default sleep image or different sleep screen mode? It works similarly in stock firmware. If there is no page loaded, it displays default sleep screen.
