`l_date` always returns the same format

When using l_date, the format output is always yyyy-MM-dd, now matter what the parameters are.

For example: l_date: "%A", "fr" will return "2026-02-19" instead of "Jeudi"

I have tested with the following liquid example and could not reproduce:

Hmm you're right it seems to work in a new static recipe but not in the recipe I'm using for some reason (Open-Meteo Hourly Weather Forecast v1.4.4). Could you try that one? I'll try to isolate the issue if I can

Okay, thanks for the hint. In that case, there is an issue with my trmnl-liquid renderer. As a workaround, disable the external renderer. You may need to adapt the template a bit to ensure compatibility.

Thanks, I opened an issue of the trmnl-liquid repo (usetrmnl/trmnl-liquid#16). However, disabling this for the Open-Meteo Hourly Weather Forecast v1.6.0 recipe creates some issues:

• The l_date formatting still doesn't work as expected
• The grid for tomorrow's hours is missing the first 2 rows

Yeah you'll need to adapt using the PHP Date format, see https://www.php.net/manual/en/datetime.format.php (and remove the %)

Thank you for the help! I was also able to fix the second issue with the grid. It was due to the calculation of the number of rows, specifically the slice filter used here: {% assign hour_str = hour | prepend: '0' | slice: -2, 2 %}. This line works when hours is a single digit with trmnl-liquid but doesn't work without.
