Feature Request: API to override playlist with flags for display times?

I don't know if this is possible, but currently I can't find a way to override a playlist with an API call. For example I have a priority scheduled screen, etc? There doesn't seem to be a way to do this via playlists either (priorities and such).

Let me know if I'm missing something, but having a way to override a schedule without getting too granular with multiple schedules would be good.

Let me know what other information you need.

thanks for your input. Currently an active playlist will override the API call, but this may be a valid use case.
