Losing pixels when rendering

Firstly sorry for submitting so many issues, but I think I've just encountered another slight problem. When using the Met.no Forecast recipe, the middle row text is losing pixels causing the text to disappear:

I am using a BYOD DIY unit with a 800*480 screen. Initially I thought it's displaying issue with the end device, but seems like the preview on the device page is also incorrect. Seems like this is related to #63 and I have already tried PUPPETEER_WINDOW_SIZE_STRATEGY=v2 but it's not helping. The host running Docker is Debian 12.

Yes, a blurry middle row indicates a sub-pixel rendering issue which causes the issues on Linux systems. Seems to be a regression in the Design Framework. You could try to adapt the layout to use 2 or 4 columns, but we'll have to wait for a fix.

Surprisingly the same markup renders just fine on TRMNL’s proprietary server

It also renders just fine with BYOS on macOS.
Since their pipeline is also proprietary, I’m not able to determine what they do differently. (As far as I know they are using Firefox on Hetzner servers).
I’m open to any suggestions on how the image pipeline could further be improved. It's quite a complex topic.

As a temporary workaround, you can add <img class="image image-dither" /> to your markup to trigger dithering. It will still be blurry and introduce artifacts, but it should at least be readable.

Thanks for explanation, I tried to add it inside the view div and seems like it's working. The text is indeed very dizzy looking but much better than not seeing anything at all. Thanks for the effort and guess we'll have to wait...
