3. MIDI Translator Pro (Bomes midi):
Not free, unintuitive and overpriced software.
Have never installed it (I have watched reviews and youtube, but use MIDI-OX and its much more handy.)
Googling "midi maping" or "midi translator" just comes up with "Bomes midi" on the first 10 pages .... very annoying :D

NB! I haven't yet tested MIDIDASH more thoroughly but first impression is amazing. (uploaded v0.4.2. apr 19 2025)
Does midi-sysex transmit data? Don't know! primary is that they go to the right devices and right midi channels.

Miracle, that I even found MIDIDASH. :)

I hope that the MIDIDASH developer doesn't give up hope! The software seems easy to use and intuitive tool, that many (including me) need.
No need to make it complicated. Simplicity is key.
Complexity and commands are suited only for engineers. :D

It would be cool if there were already some built in virtual MIDI ports in the software.
For years already, i've been using loopMIDI-t https://www.tobias-erichsen.de/software/loopmidi.html
But it would be cool, if you didnt have to work much to create a virtual port.

Windows is updating MIDI functionality, it may be broken for some time.

Most midi tools were broken on windows (like loopMidi), maybe they fixed it by now.

About the virtual port, windows should accept them now or soon enough, will need to update it for that.

I don't want to upgrade to Windows 11.
"Loop midi" has always worked for me, for about ten years now. All virtual ports are available.

PS! The strange thing is that I can use LoopMid's virtual ports in Samplitude and MIDITASH at the same time.
But not the Zoom l-6 midi ports. It gives a message in Samplitude that the ports is already in use. So I can't use it in both Samplitude and MIDITASH at the same time.

I don't have windows 10, you have to tell me what the problem is maybe I can guess. Never had problems using this program + reaper + loopmidi before the windows updates lately. You have maybe to use Zoom over a virtual MIDI and not assign it directly in Samplitude.

Just wanted to acknowledge , that you have programmed this thing :)

I only just started testing and it takes time, because im upgrading my hardware (preserving the old pitch-to-midi Terratec-AXON-AX-100 converter.)

PS! I dont use Reaper (it never impressed me, but that's not important.)
I use virtual midi ports, channeling them, where needed.

Windooza 10 update is forbidden (because every uptate always brakes something :D!)
Currently the MIDI is going out and in wherever (through virtual or real ports, still using MIDIOX)

With Win 11 many report having problems with virtual MIDI ports. Sad :(
