From 50aad0a96281aa36ad82645cf64957efb8d67460 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: ZouR Ma <37286405+ZouR-Ma@users.noreply.github.com> Date: Thu, 22 Oct 2026 16:38:36 +0800 Subject: [PATCH] fix(coding-agent): preserve task-state prompt cache prefixes Keep request-only task snapshots at their original conversation boundaries and append a new version only when visible task state changes. Reuse unchanged snapshot content and timestamps without rewriting canonical history. Reset snapshots on branch restoration, context replacement, or disabled task tools, and supersede deleted tasks with an empty snapshot. Add regression coverage for append-only turns, serialized Responses requests, retries, and compaction behavior. --- .../coding-agent/docs/context-management.md | 42 +++-- .../src/features/step-tasks-context.ts | 62 +++++-- .../coding-agent/src/features/step-tasks.ts | 6 +- .../test/step-tasks-context.test.ts | 75 +++++++++ .../test/step-tasks-extension.test.ts | 3 +- .../suite/agent-session-task-state.test.ts | 152 +++++++++++++++++- 6 files changed, 310 insertions(+), 30 deletions(-) diff --git a/packages/coding-agent/docs/context-management.md b/packages/coding-agent/docs/context-management.md index 35a57ffd..008018a8 100644 --- a/packages/coding-agent/docs/context-management.md +++ b/packages/coding-agent/docs/context-management.md @@ -9,13 +9,16 @@ recovery as fallbacks. ## Request notice stability Working-context status and pressure notices remain at their original positions -in the request view during append-only conversation turns.
