Description:
Currently, the xtreamPOC project requires users to know or remember the name of the channel to search for it. This can be limiting when users are looking for new content or simply don't remember specific channel names.
This new feature will enhance the user experience by allowing them to search for categories of channels instead. Users will have the option to toggle between searching for individual streams (current functionality) or searching by category. Once a category is selected, the corresponding streams will be loaded for the user to explore.
Proposed Functionality:
- Add a switch to toggle between Stream Search (current) and Category Search (new functionality).
- When the user selects Category Search, a list of available categories will be displayed.
- After selecting a category, the corresponding streams within that category will be loaded.
- This will provide a more intuitive experience for users who are browsing for new content rather than searching for specific channels by name.
Benefits:
- Easier discovery of new channels within categories.
- Allows users to find content without needing to remember specific channel names.
- Encourages exploration of channel categories, offering a broader content experience.
Additional Considerations:
- Ensure seamless integration with the current search functionality.
- Consider how categories are fetched and how streams are displayed after selecting a category.
