From f3e1134c017a430145b5a61875d1693e1c9d4822 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: JohnnyT Date: Wed, 30 Sep 2026 04:58:16 -0600 Subject: [PATCH] Notes what 075c7a3 did for ADR-0016 item 8's fallbacks The flip Note of 2026-09-29 credits item 8's "its delay" and "its event" fallbacks to 075c7a3. That commit pinned them with a test and added one comment to timer_edges/2; the fallback code came with the timer edge in 40cb469 (2026-09-27) and predates the Amendment of 2026-09-29. A dated foot Note says so; the flip Note is not edited, and no line is removed. Gate: full mix quality green on this staged tree (3,951 of 3,951 tests, 95.3% coverage, dialyzer clean, ADR cites green). This request is that one, and 0.41.0 is that version. + +## Note (2026-09-30): what `075c7a3` did for item 8's fallbacks + +A dated Note rather than an amendment: it carries no `Status:` line, decides +nothing, and edits no clause. It corrects one attribution in the Note of +2026-09-29 above ("the Amendment of 2026-09-29 is flipped to accepted"), +which says item 8's fallbacks were built "by `075c7a3`". That Note is not +edited; this one, at the foot of the file, says what the history shows +(`sb-0o4l`). + +`075c7a3` built no fallback. It pinned them with a test, `a hand-built timer +edge with no readable delay or event reads its delay and its event` +(`test/statifier_blocks/describe_test.exs:1010`, read at `142a391`), and +added one comment above the `is_binary(parent)` guard in `defp +timer_edges/2` (`describe.ex:534`, read at `142a391`), a comment `4fdf7f8` +has since reworded. It changed no line of `defp edge_line/2`. + +The fallback code predates the Amendment of 2026-09-29. The `its delay` and +`its event` fallbacks in the `:timer` clause of `defp edge_line/2` +(`describe.ex:638` and `:639`, read at `142a391`) came with the timer edge +itself, in `40cb469` (2026-09-27), under the Amendment of 2026-09-27, and +they are already present at `a2e008c`, the commit the Amendment of +2026-09-29 read its cites at. Item 8 therefore stated wording the code +already had, and the flip Note's reading of item 8 at `520c6d8` holds as +written: the clause writes those words, and the test pins them.
